Why Jewels By Lou?

Jewels by Lou was founded by Louise Wilson because she loves designing and making custom jewelry out of silver, gold, crystals, and gems. We use high-quality materials, professional tools, and many hours of hand work to create these pieces. Each one is unique ... we don't use mass production, and while we source our components from sources around the world -- United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Italy, Germany, and Asia -- every piece is constructed, examined, polished, and confirmed by hand in Louise's studio in northern Virginia.

Air Force Association Trunk Show 2016

We're honored to be invited back to the Air Force Association's convention for our annual Trunk Show in September 2016.

This year, we've expanded our line to include several new pieces, including our new Venetian Glass Bead jewelry as well as custom earrings and earring-necklace and bracelet-necklace combinations.

Murano Glass  Jewelry

Many of our customers have enjoyed the beauty of our pieces which use brilliant Swarovski crystals. We know, and love, the way light glints off of these crystals. So imagine our excitement when we saw that the glass artisans of Murano, Italy (one of the islands of Venice) were making glass  for jewelry. We've been able to get our hands on a limited supply of Murano glass, and we've turned them into some exciting pieces.

As you can see, the Venetians take a different approach than the Austrians. Swarovski crystals focus on brilliance and reflection/refraction of light; Venetian crystals swirl color by intermingling different types and colors of glass, making for semi-translucent reflective beads which seem to have a depth and color all their own.

Both are beautiful, in their own ways, and both make exceptional jewelry. We love owning both, and we think you will, as well. Please see our CATALOG for more.
